Since 1992, the Meeting of the Economics of Education Association has been organized annually by The Association of Education Economics (AEDE). This year the XXIII Meeting will be hosted in Valencia, Spain, 2014. In this congress, there is room for reflections on education finance, planning and management, equity and efficiency problems, failure and dropout, human capital and economic development, labour insertion and training. Also included are other highly topical issues such as the interrelationships between the education and other aspects such as social capital, gender and immigration.
Along with the economic and academic interest of the Meeting appears the commitment of the organizers to transfer to society and public managers the main ideas and results derived from the contributions and discussions of this conference. In addition, the holding of this congress offers a privileged framework for our current reflection on the challenges of the new European Higher Education Area, in general, and on the teaching of Economics of Education in particular.
